How It All Started!
This blog is about South Carolina State University, located in Orangeburg, South Carolina. This blog was created as an assignment for a Social Media class as a way to simulate being a Social Media Practitioner. It doesn’t just stop here, the blog is essential a doorway to other outlets of social media accounts such as Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Anyone who is familiar with Orangeburg, South Carolina knows South Carolina State isn't the only standing HBCU in the small town. Claflin University also known as the "Mother School," of South Carolina State is literally next door to the university. It all started with the Constituional Convention of 1895, the college was created from Claflin University. In 1896, September 27 to be exact the Colored Normal, Agricultural, Mechanical and Industrial College of South Carolina was opened aka South Carolina State University. It wasn't til 1954 the name was change to South Carolina State College.
