Here in Bulldog Country, everyone knows about the Marching 101 but what many people fail to realize is that a lot of our notable alumni are either former or current NFL players. The SC State football team has won a total of 16 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championships more than any other school in the MEAC. The very first championship was in 1974, and the most current one was in 2014. All the Championship ending seasons are put on display in the stadium over the home side seats to remind not only the fans but the visiting team of the university who makes history on numerous occasions.

Dicken Johns, Harry Carson, Joe Thomas, Antonio Hamilton, and Javon Hargrave all made their mark on the field of Oliver C. Dawson Stadium. As students of the University of one time or another, they walk the halls of the same buildings as many students do today.
