On September 27, South Carolina State University’s Career Center hosted the Career Day extravaganza. Mr. Joseph Thomas, Director of the Career Center coordinated over ninety-five agencies that consisted of companies, graduate school, and federal agencies for post-graduate opportunities for students. Over three hundred students attended the Career Fair from South Carolina State University, Claflin University, Orangeburg Technical College, and Orangeburg-Wilkson High School. From 9am-12pm, Smith- Hammond -Middleton Gymnasium was filled with opportunities outside the gates of 300 College Street. In the words of Mr. Thomas, “We care about our students.”

This video was taken on my iPhone7, while I was standing in the upper level of the gymnasium right after the Career Fair has begun. Agencies flooded the gym floor as students navigated their way around selling themselves to recruiters. As a University of a little under 3,000 total students, we brought in around 95 different recruiters as the USC of Columbia had around 150 recruiters for their Career Fair for a student population of upwards 30,000 students. The ratio speaks for itself.
